I am now in studio working on a series of paintings for an exhibition in late 2008 or early 2009 with the working title “Ephemeral Perception”. This is one of several studies for this exhibition. I am having a lot of fun creating these pieces. They are a complete departure from my usual style and were done to practice technique. I couldn’t resist playing with them. I hope you enjoy them.
Pears seem to be a favourite subject here in Aotearoa for many artists. This is a playful exercise to get the floating pears to diasappear. Or, should I say disap-pear?
Trans-pear-ency has gilt around the perimeter of the image of the plate. The support appears to float away from the wall on which it is hanging. Can easily be framed, if you preferred. |
