Artist Statement
The themes of my acrylic paintings include the power of local landscapes, the vibrancy of spring tulips and the beauty of female dancers. My paintings have recently taken a new and exciting direction into the world of the abstract and semi abstract. I strive for artistic and dramatic impact through bold colours and large format. My work features complementary colours which sing together. Although influenced by several local artists whose classes I have taken, I have worked to create my own artistic style.
Biography
I grew up in the Canadian provinces of Ontario, Saskatchewan and British Columbia and also in France. I started painting after retiring from teaching elementary school in Victoria, British Columbia.
