Artist Statement
The digital medium puts the voice of my feelings into a visible space with form and color. I create digital fine art by incorporating a floral theme with abstraction. I find similarities between the frailty of flowers and my emotion, and flowers have become my natural language for expressing spiritual and emotional topics by representing my subject matter.
In creating art through floral images and combining digital abstraction, I hope I can reach as high as this versatile digital technology allows me to create images in my way and hope that my art can contribute to role as an artist with a purpose in future art.
Biography
Born in Korea, Mae Jeon studied graphic design with a BS and Advertising Art with a MFA from Hong- Ik Art College in Seoul, Korea. Then, she had been worked in the graphic design profession in Tokyo, in Seoul, and in New York for 30 years.
Mae discovered the digital medium and began creating digital fine art in 2000. She retired from her commercial art profession in 2003, same year she had her first solo show in digital media. She has been exhibit her artwork in New York and Florida in United States, and abroad. Her digital artwork has published in numerous art magazines and collectors art books in United States and in Europe.
