Upon reading some old letters that were sent to my Grandfather during the Depression, I remembered the wheat elevators I photographed a few years ago. Many of these old wheat elevators are in jeopardy of becoming extinct and I was happy to know that I had preserved the memory of them in this photograph.
I scanned my B&W negative of the Wheat Elevators and then hand-colored the image in Photo Shop. After that was complete I took an image of my grandfathers letter and layered it over the hand colored image of the wheat elevators to create a lasting memory of the depression years. |
