 Exotic Fantasy

Artist Statement
"Colors and exotic subjects are always a priority in my compositions.I just love to put pigments together and discover the emerging subject or when more representative, build atmospheres around it.I'm attracted to tropical subjects;rare orchids, calla, lush vegetation, zebras, leopards, parrots, toucans...and my favorite: exotic fish."
"I always enjoy people's reaction to the discovery of the sensual appeal of those wild orchids, exotic flowers and expressive fish."
Biography
Micheline developped her skills over years in different fields of art and design.A successful carrer as a fashion designer gave her a feel for colors and textures. Then, as a stained-glass artisan, she experimented with translucence and luminosity. Painting on porcelain allowed her to devellop precise and feathered brush stokes. Working with ceramics helped her expand her spatial concepts of depth and perception.
These experience have served as a prelude to her current passion, which draws upon them, masterfully combining fluid acrylics, watercolors and inks in an explosion of colors and imagery.
On a specially prepared canvas of fabric, the artist plays with water medium as they glide and blend. The subject is then painted with several applications of translucent acrylic providing the vibrant colors and contrast. A benifit of this technique is that the finished painting doesn't require a protective glass.Technique called "Exotic Fantasy".
