Artist Statement
My work is to create portholes through my pictures and stories so that I can share what I learn and hopefully encourage others to also find out the 95% of us that is similar to ‘the other’ and be able to celebrate the 5% that’s not!
Biography
Robyn has worked in a variety of mediums over the years. Her work in the seventies was shown in and around the Chicago area to dynamic reviews. From high school days, her passion for learning led her to scour the Art Institute of Chicago for her favorite artists who were then Picasso, Dali, Miro and others. Her studies focused on the content and the revelations that artists exuded in their work and how it related to the world. As a ‘sixties’ child, she has ever been the rebel and found that she could not seperate her painting from her writing. On a recent trip to the Smithsonian Institute, she was told that ‘real’ artists don’t paint flowers. Ignoring the ‘real art’ world, Robyn is a volcano of expression utilizing vibrant colors and the gentle whispering from the heart of her world to help others to touch the heart of theirs.
