Self portrait of artist and what drives her. Background sky text are two Tibetan prayers. AUM is also known as Om, a mantra the artist chants frequently in Los Angeles traffic.
Believing that Mahayana Buddhism is the Great Vehicle, the artist has twisted this into a humorous "Vocho" or Volkswagen taxi. The "People's Car" may be the Twentieth Century representation of the Great Vehicle... or not. |
