Artist Statement
I am now in studio working on a series of paintings for an exhibition in 2009 entitled “Ephemeral Perception”, which will challenge the viewer to pause and consider everyday life along side the eternal.
Biography
Beverly Claridge has a distinctive style in her oil on board paintings. Her specialty is creating figurative compositions using a strong colour palette.
Beverly has been creating art for over 20 years, becoming a fulltime artist when she moved to New Zealand in 2001.
Prior to immigrating to New Zealand, she founded and directed the Fine Arts Ministry at Central Community Church, a 3, 000-member congregation in Wichita, Kansas. They hosted two well-received exhibitions in 2000 and 2001.
Beverly's artwork is in private collections in the United States and New Zealand. Earlier artworks are signed as Beverly Unverferth and Beverly Cox.
