 Morning has broken
Artist Statement
This painting was done in the winter while house sitting on Ludgate lane, in Nanoose Bay, overlooking the Strait of Georgia.
Each morning, as the sun rose, these four cormorants dried their feathers after breakfast.
Resumè
Leith has been drawing and painting for 60 years but only seriously since 1974. She is a founding member of The Nanoose Water Colour Group in Nanoose Bay, BC. She studied drawing, colour, and water colour painting at Emily Carr in the late 1970's and has attended at least one major workshop each year since. Professionally, Leith was a registered nurse. She travelled extensively and worked in many countries. Her art is as varied as her life experiences. Painting and experimenting with colour, mediums and methods is just a great pleasure. Her paintings are in the private collections of many home owners.
