The beauty of the Oregon Coast is almost overwhelming. I can't get enough of the rivers, lakes, streams and trees, or the Rhododendrons that seem to take over the area in May.
At first I concentrated on oil painting, but have become more and more charmed by the immediacy of pastels. Pastels require no drying time, and I've really come to appreciate this very versatile medium made popular by Degas and Cassatt.
It's for certain that I'll never run out of subjects to paint here on the Oregon coast.
Biography
I left Oregon with my family when I was 5 years old, to be near my father, who was in a V.A hospital in Southern California.
Although I grew up in California, married, and raised three daughters, I always dreamed of returning to my home state.
In 1998 my husband and I realized that dream when we moved to the central Oregon coast.
My Art celebrates the beautiful scenery of the Oregon Coast. I paint in both Oils and Pastels.
Resumè
EDUCATION
Bachelor of Arts in Fine Art at California University, Northridge.
Studied with Martha Saudek, Frank Sardisco, Liz James, Lidona Wagner, and Kitty Wallis.
Also studied plein air painting with David Jonas at the California Art Institute.
Recently had the privilage of studying Plein Air pastel painting with Richard McMillan
